Chippewa National forest begins to shed its greenery, replacing it with shades of gold, orange, and red, a beautiful backdrop for your stay. Not only is this colorful explosion on display above the horizon, Lake Winnie itself reflects the vibrant colors of the foliage, creating a picture perfect scene.

Please remember though: keep a safe distance, while these animals are majestic, they are also wild, and safety should always be top of mind.

We have a variety of local festivals and events happening throughout the season for all interests! Celebrate the fall harvest with local farmers' markets and festivals. Not only are these a great way to spend an afternoon, but they also help support our local community, so they can continue to support us, and ultimately you! Fall is also prime time for local Arts and Crafts fairs, where you can find amazing souvenirs and handmade goods from our local artisans. In our opinion, some of the most interesting decor you can buy these days are at these fairs, rather than the mass produced decor you’d find online or at a big box store! 
If a festival or an arts fair isn’t your thing, and you want to get a more thrilling adventure, we’ve got PLENTY of hiking and biking trails to explore. If you want to move a little faster than your feet or bike will allow, bring your ATV and take an afternoon cruise! 
For you competitive types, fall is the perfect time (and last chance) to get out on the golf course. The experience is even enhanced with the autumn leaves! Pair that with a couple of your favorite beverages and I can’t think of a better way to spend a day up north!
