At the very beginning of the month, we always feel the end of summer blues, but by the end of the month fall has won us over! This year has been no different. There’s something to be said about the beginning of fall up here in Northern Minnesota. The trees are bursting with colors, the temperature is still excellent, more ideal than summer on most days with that little bit of crisp air. It feels like the pace of life just gets more comfortable and manageable in general! There's something magical about watching the colors of the season reflected on the surface of Lake Winnie. It’s like something you would see on a postcard, only it’s infinitely better to see it with your own eyes. Today, let's explore the exciting 4th of July events at Lake Winnie this summer, where visitors can get into the patriotic spirit and create unforgettable memories.  The 4th of July wouldn't be complete without a dazzling fireworks display, and Lake Winnie delivers! As darkness falls, the night sky above the lake becomes alive with brilliant bursts of color and light. Grab a spot along the shoreline, at one of the designated viewing areas, or on a boat (If you don’t have a boat, Northland Lodge DOES offer boat rentals!) and prepare to be awed by the spectacular fireworks show that illuminates the water and reflects off its serene surface.
If you’ve never spent the 4th of July on a lake before, you are REALLY missing out on boat parades! Lake Winnie comes alive with decked out displays of patriotism through boat parades. Decorated boats adorned with American flags and red, white, and blue decorations glide across the water, showcasing the community's pride and spirit for the good old USA!. Join the festivities by participating in the boat parade or find a prime spot along the shoreline to cheer on the procession and soak in the celebratory atmosphere. While lakeside lodges don’t own the market on BBQs, we DO think that we offer the best location for them! Celebrate Independence Day with a beachside BBQ or picnic.
